For candidates

How a placement actually works.

If you’ve been contacted by us — or you’re thinking about reaching out — here’s the full picture of what working through BEEM looks like, from the first conversation to your first paycheck. No surprises, no fine print buried later.

The candidate journey

Four stages, no agency-speak.

Same flow whether you’re placing into hospitality in Ireland, restaurants in Spain, or hotels in Greece. The legal counterparty changes by country (BEEM, Hjorton AB, or Scandic Rekruttering AS), but the candidate experience is identical.

01 · First contact

We reach out, or you do

Either we contact you because your CV matches an open brief, or you write to us. Either way, we book a 20–30 minute conversation to understand what you’re looking for — location, role level, start date, salary expectation.

02 · CV review & interview

You meet the employer directly

If your profile fits an open role, we share an anonymised version with the employer. If they want to talk, we schedule the interview directly — no agency in the room. You and they decide whether to proceed.

03 · Trial period

90 working days, full pay, you can leave

If both sides agree, you start under a 90-working-day trial. You’re employed by us, not the client — so you get a full employment contract, statutory sick pay, holiday accrual, and the safety net of an established Nordic operator.

04 · Permanent (if it fits)

You become a direct hire, or extend with us

After 90 days, the client can hire you directly without further fee. Or you can keep working through us under the same terms. Or, if the fit isn’t right, we find you the next placement — you don’t go back to square one.

Practical details

Pay, hours, and how it actually runs.

Weekly timesheets. You get a personal link to submit your hours each Monday for the previous week. Takes about two minutes. The client has three working days to approve or dispute — if they don’t respond, the timesheet is considered approved automatically (per § 4.4 of our framework agreement).

Pay cadence. Weekly during the trial period, twice-monthly thereafter. Direct deposit to your bank in your local currency (EUR, NOK, SEK, or whatever the market uses). Payslips delivered electronically.

Minimum shift. Each scheduled shift is paid at minimum 4 hours regardless of actual time worked. Same rule for shifts cancelled by the client with less than 24 hours’ notice.

If something goes wrong. If you can’t continue the placement — illness, family emergency, the fit isn’t right — we have 10 working days to present the client with a replacement candidate. You’re not stranded; we move you to the next opportunity.

Insurance & cover. While you’re placed through us, you’re covered by our occupational injury insurance (yrkesskadeforsikring in Norway, equivalent in each market) for the duration of the placement.

  • Full employment contract
  • Statutory sick pay
  • Holiday pay accrual
  • Insurance during placement
  • Weekly timesheet self-service
  • Replacement candidate clause
